My MAC ID included some zeros that I may have took for the letter "O" at first, so the issue of registering the correct MAC ID was probably on my end. I think I may have given them an incorrect MAC ID at first though, so that's on me. Also, the unit's MAC ID needs to be registered with Verizon Wireless on an account. Access to the website is explained in the Quick Start Guide (Accessing Your Network Extender's Admin Website) and can be opened after initialization step 6. I found it helpful to use the admin website to see what was happening during initialization.
The initialization of the unit kept getting stuck on step 8a. It needs to be connected directly to internet with the ethernet cable. I had to open a port (port forwarding) on my cable modem. The instructions for the Verizon 4G LTE Network Extender 2 make it sound like installation is plug-n-play, but after reading the helpful reviews, I found that there are some additional steps that I needed to take.
